Material notes
- White Chocolate: We like to use high quality white chocolate chips for the best taste. You can also use vanilla melted wafers or vanilla bean bark.
- Sweet Condensed Milk: This is the secret ingredient that adds sweetness and gives your fudge its smooth, creamy texture. Don't skip it! Evaporated milk is not the same.
- Peanut Butter: Creamy peanut butter gives the perfect smooth texture, but you can also use chunky peanut butter if you prefer a little crunch. Do not use a natural peanut butter in this recipe as the results will vary. We recommend GIF or Skippy.
- Vanilla extract: Use pure vanilla extract for best flavor.
Adding nuts
You can use a chunky style of peanut butter in this recipe instead of the smooth style. Or you can add 1/2 cup of roughly chopped peanuts to the fudge mixture just before pouring it into your pan to refrigerate.
variation
This classic fudge recipe is a perfect base for adding your favorite flavors and mix-ins. Here are some ideas to get creative:
Flavor Extract: Swap or supplement the vanilla extract with almond or chocolate extract. Use 1/2 tsp.
Nuts: Stir in 1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts, pecans, pistachios or almonds for crunch.
Marshmallow: Fold in mini marshmallows after stirring in the fudge for a gooey twist.
Sprinkle: Top the fudge with colorful sprinkles for festive fun.
Microwave fudge
All ingredients can be combined directly in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between. Avoid microwaving too long or for too long, as this can cause the chocolate to burn and become grainy. The ingredients will continue to melt as you stir, so it's best to stop and stir until there are only small lumps.
Storage instructions
Keep in fridge Leftovers in an airtight container preferably in a plastic storage container or a resealable plastic bag, but you can also wrap it in aluminum foil. It will keep well in the fridge for about 3 weeks.
