Point blank, I love my 30s. I feel more confident in my skills and ability, the relationships I’ve cultivated throughout the years, and all the amazing things my body is capable of. It’s a good decade, and I’m honestly even more excited for my 40s and 50s. One thing I could do without, though? Hair loss and hair shedding. In my teens and early 20s, I had the thickest, most unruly hair — and so much of it, I’d get compliments from all my hairdressers.
These days? It’s definitely gotten thinner, which is kind of tragic, but normal. Stress, medications, pregnancy, color treatment and damage from heating tools, diet, age in general, among other things, can contribute to hair loss. Luckily, there’s a huge range of products out there that help combat this. One I recently discovered is just under $14, and it seems to really work. Enter: Hair Thickness Maximizer Argan Tea Tree Black Caster Oil.
What Makes This Argan and Tea Tree Oil Serum so Effective?
As a general rule, I don’t invest a lot of money into “miracle” hair growth potions. As someone who’s tested dozens and dozens (some costing over $100 a bottle), I’ll let you in on a secret: They’re more or less the same. Almost all of them are made with tea tree, eucalyptus, and rosemary oil — all natural ingredients that help improve blood circulation at the scalp, clear dirt and debris that’s stopping new growth, and, as a result, stimulate growth. This product’s active ingredients are tea tree oil, black castor oil, eucalyptus, red raspberry seed oil, vitamin E, and marula oil.
Black castor oil, which has been used by folks with natural hair for basically ever, contains omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, which also nourishes the scalp and reinvigorates circulation in the scalp. Red raspberry seed oil, vitamin E, and marula oil help with overall health and suppleness, giving you soft strands after use (and counteracting tea tree’s drying features). A 2013 study found that, when treating alopecia (a hair loss condition) with tea tree oil versus a placebo, the tea tree oil “was significantly superior to minoxidil alone and placebo in terms of stability, safety, and efficacy, and achieved an earlier response” over the course of 32 weeks.
The combination of hair growth stimulating ingredients along with nourishing oils gives strands the ultimate reboot: In weeks, your hair should feel not only fuller, but stronger and shinier.
What Shoppers Say
One customer, who is actually a hairdresser skeptical of hair snake oil products writes, “What a wonderful product. As a hairdresser I am very aware of cons in most hair loss/ regrowth products BUT THIS HAIR SERUM ACTUALLY WORKS.” They continue, “Simply use it after you washed your hair and apply it on damp hair not soaking wet and give it time everyone is different for me I saw immediate results in two weeks of not seeing clumps of hair in my shower.” You can see the before and after photos here.
Another shopper who is also wary of scams, says, “I intentionally waited to do a review… because I’ve fallen for a few ‘scams’ that were too good to be true. Well, I am so happy with this product! In this short time 3 weeks I have seen and felt hair growth! I am so impressed! I am now hopeful and happy that I will have a full head of hair! The thin spots are filling up and there’s noticeable ‘baby hairs’ at the bang line! My hair is not falling out like it was before. Impressed!”
I know I’m sold.
