Collecting your supplies
Before you start planting, having the right supplies at hand will set you success. Here's what you need:
1 Pepper seeds – this year I am raising sweet peppers of the bell, jalapeños and poblanos. I have chosen high quality organic seeds, by my favorite seed company-High seeds for mowing. If you are choosing your varieties, look for the labeled inheritance, organic or disease -resistant seeds for the best results.
2. Seed start mix – A light, pure seed mixture is essential for strong root development. I use my home -made seed start mix, which is perfect for blocking soil and seed trays:
Seed Seed Mixture Recipe:
-
-
2-1Lb coconut blocks + water-exploited on a fluffy, moist base.
-
2 gallons of trash (32 cups) – adds organic matter and useful germs.
-
6 cups vermiculite – helps maintain moisture.
-
6 cups of perlite – improves drainage and ventilation.
-
2/3 cup seedling – Provides essential nutrients for young plants.
-
This mixture ensures that your shoots have the perfect balance of retaining moisture, drainage and nutrients.
3. Tabaka and seed containers – I prefer to block the soil, but you can also use seed trays with individual cells, peat pots or recycled pots. Whatever you choose, make sure they have drainage holes to prevent excess waters.
4. Increasing the lights – Peppers need 14-16 hours bright light every day to grow and prevent ease. I use full spectrum LED growth lights, positioning them 2-3 inches above the seedlings and adjusting height as they grow.
5. The night of the heat – The pepper seeds best germinate at 75-85 ° F. A heat of the seedlings of the seedlings placed under the tray keeps the soil warm, significantly improving germination rates. Once the seeds germinate, I remove the mattress to prevent overheating.
6. The moisture cup or plastic wrapping – Covering seed trays with a moisture cube or plastic wrap helps maintain stable moisture levels during germination. Once the seedlings appear, I remove the cover to improve the air flow and prevent mold.
7. Watering tools – A bottle of spray or lower watering trays keeps the soil moist without disturbing delicate seeds. Water overload can cause removal diseases, so I always aim to wet evenly-not wet.
I just got this vaters And I really love it.
