Before jumping into all the amazing qualities of the American Ginseng, first I wanted to share a little about my personal journey with this plant. For a long time, I didn't feel comfortable working with ginseng. Much of my plant practice is to make sure I am working with herbs in a way to honor the ecological and social influences of my choices. As you may know, ginseng is in LIST OF CARRIED PLANTS RISK AND is also in Appendix II of Convention on International Trade in the List of Endangered Species, It means it is at risk of disappearing if trade is not better controlled. Ginseng has been on these lists for many years and remains a plant that continues to be overloaded and shredded to the point of ecological damage. However, over the years, some passionate peers of the industry have grown in the challenge of making stable and accessible ginseng, while not affecting the already threatened wild booths.
