A berry delicious dilemma…
It's not always berry season and sometimes it can be difficult to find perfect, ripe blackberries. If you are having a hard time getting fresh blackberries, you can use frozen/thawed blackberries, but we have a few tips.
- Thaw the bag of frozen berries in the refrigerator overnight, then pick the largest, whole berries from the bunch and place them on a dry paper towel to help absorb some of the excess juice.
- Use a mesh colander to squeeze out excess juice from the remaining berries, then use half a cup of the thawed berries for the sauce (they may already be a bit mashed, but feel free to break them up a bit more if you like).
- When you're ready to place the blackberries on top of the sliced cheese, use a small paring knife to cut each of your berries in half lengthwise, then place them cut side down on top of the pizza.
Turn on the heat
