Top unique gift ideas
These are the gifts I'm giving the hard-to-buy-for people on my list. I know they don't already have these and I love that they will have some health benefits too!
Red light therapy
What is my mom getting (I hope she doesn't read this!) this year. Red light therapy or photobiomodulation has been shown to improve skin, increase collagen production and improve mitochondrial function in the body. I use it every day and wanted her to be able to get the benefits too.
I use a Joovv Combo light. You can get the mini version (pictured here) for on-the-go wellness benefits or one of their modular panels. With the modular option, your recipient can purchase more panels later for a more complete body experience.

Grow your mushroom log
You may have heard of mushroom growing kits that come in a box, but these mushrooms come with their own stem. They can grow organic shiitake mushrooms in just 10 days from inside their home. They don't even need to have a green thumb, as these mushrooms are guaranteed to grow.
Each box/trunk can grow two mushroom crops. It's made in the USA by a small business, and if you tag them with your harvest on social media, they'll even donate a set of mushrooms to the class of your choice.
A mini trampoline
Great for the lymphatic system, as an easy way to exercise and just plain fun! A mini trampoline (also called a recovery) will fit in most homes and jumping on it is a great daily practice. They're great for keeping you going while watching your favorite shows or for little brain and movement breaks during the day.
A simple and cheap one mini trampoline it's fun for the kid (or kid at heart) on your list… and it's healthy too!
Flower press and glass frame
Many people like to decorate their homes with fresh flowers, but they don't last that long. With one wood press flowers and plants however, they can preserve nature for years to come! Use it for flowers, ferns, leaves and other foliage.
Once they've printed a bunch of plants, they can arrange them into a beautiful display with this hanging glass frame.
Acupressure mat
Your recipient can use this gift at home for a few minutes a day to improve sleep, relieve tension and increase relaxation. This mat has around 10,000 acupressure points that press on the body to help increase blood flow to the back and neck muscles. This can help reduce inflammation and pain while releasing endorphins.
The neck pillow has 1782 acupressure points that can reach between the neck and shoulder, treating tension headaches and neck muscle pain at the source. Here is the one I have and love.
A balance chair
Do you have someone on your list who works at a desk for part of the day? Many companies are fine with switching from a chair to a more ergonomic chair even if they won't go for a standing workstation. it balance chair combines a yoga ball and a swivel chair for a desk chair that engages the core and negates some of the harmful aspects of sitting all the way.
Full spectrum sunlight bulb
For anyone suffering from seasonal affective disorder or daytime sleepiness, a solar lamp may be the solution. It has a bright full-spectrum bulb that simulates daylight, even indoors and even in winter.
This is it one that uses to keep cortisol levels healthy.
Trigger point massage tool
A trigger point massage tool it looks like a cane but works for self-massage. It hits hard to reach spots and is great for releasing tension in the back. I love using this while watching a movie (bonus if you're also sitting on the yoga ball chair!).
Cruzee bike
This is only recommended for the 5 and under on your list. It's a newer approach to an exercise bike. No training wheels or pedals here, just an ultra light bike that teaches balance. The best part? Children can hold it, put it aside and move it by themselves.
CSA membership
A great way to support local farms and give the gift of fresh vegetables all year round. CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture” and means that the member is essentially sharing in the farm's yield that year. We have been members of several different CSAs over the years and have loved them all. Search here for CSAs in your area to find one near you.
MyoBidy
I got one of these as a gift and it's one of my favorite things right now! It's basically percussion massage that complements myofascial release and infrared heat. It feels like a mix of deep tissue massage and fascia massage and I find it so relaxing!
I love it so much, I asked for a discount for my readers. You can get $50 off Myobuddy Pro2 and $100 off Myobuddy Pro2+ with code WELLNESSMAMA in this connection.
Squatty Potty
What could be better than the gift of good toilet posture? Potty Squatty rose to prominence after his appearance on Shark Tank, numerous celebrity endorsements, and the famous (and now banned) unicorn poo video. Our family has had them for years.
My midwife even recommended them during my last pregnancy for better bathroom posture and to prepare for birth. Combine the gift with a bottle natural bath spray to overcome the stench.
Chemex With Coffee
I have two rules when it comes to coffee… I don't drink it every day, and I only drink good coffee. (Except when camping. There's something about terrible coffee when camping is so good!). My Chemex it's one of my favorite ways to make coffee.
Plus I stick to it Four sigma coffee OR Coffee of purity (use code wellnessmama for 20% off!). The Chemex is a cone-shaped coffee maker that makes great coffee without any trace of bitterness or acidity. It's also beautiful and *almost* makes me drink coffee every day!
Probiotics for the home
Sounds weird, doesn't it? It turns out that our homes have a microbiome just like our guts, mouths and skin. Many scientists are concerned that we are born and live in such sterile environments that our gut microbiome may suffer.
We can improve our gut bacteria in many ways, but just as I often let my babies play in organic dirt, we can also support our skin and gut microbiome by interacting with the probiotics in our environment. There is also some evidence that these beneficial bacteria can help remove mold and odors in the home. This is why I spray my house with a homemade probiotic called Homebiotic. The super crunchy person on your list might love this quirky gift too!
A sauna
This is definitely a gift you would only buy for someone you really love, as it is not cheap. There are so many benefits to using a sauna on a daily basis and one at home is the easiest way to achieve this. We have one Clearlight two-person sauna and I love it because it's my “quiet box” where I go to sweat, listen to a podcast, and take a few minutes.
If you want something that's more portable and a lot cheaper (but still works really well), then a sauna blanket could be the perfect solution. it sauna blanket by Bon Charge is slim enough to store under the bed and has very low EMF emissions. I also love sauna blankets from High Dose and they have given him gifts before.
Puzzle box
These beautiful ones Japanese puzzle box are a unique way for older kids and adults to keep valuables safe, and they're fun to learn. They are handmade and require creativity and problem solving to work.
You can also give them one Money Maze Mystery Box with cash. In this way they enjoy a puzzle plus money to get everything they want. Much better than a cash card!
Personalized photo book
I make a photo book for each of my children each year with special memories from the previous year. They always look forward to their unique memory book! I try to make one for my parents as well.
My favorites are the ones from Mixbooks. You can customize the design and size and get hard or flat cover options. Capture memories from a trip or special event in your photo book for your recipient to treasure.
