I have done in the last few years many trips, from Texas to Iceland and everything in the middle. And while I like to experience new things, I don't always like to travel with a liquid air conditioner and shampoo. This nourishing air conditioner bar recipe is great to travel or even for home use!
The best air conditioners are the ones that break the hair, are moisturizing and have no sketched ingredients. Have this Home -made hair conditioner I like it, but sometimes it is best to have a strong air conditioner strip.
What is there in a air conditioner bar?
Shampoo bars have been in style for a while now for hair care routines. I shared a post years ago with a recipe for a Moisturizing Shampoo Shampoo. Basically it is a handmade soap that laather and cleanses hair with natural ingredients. Conditioner rods are similar, but use more moisturizing ingredients instead of soaps and cleaners. They are known as a more eco-friendly (and even zero waste) alternative for the regular shampoo and conditioner.
There are many cleaner versions there but most of them still contain Beentrimonium Methosulfate or Chloride. This chemical is made of cannolate oil (often GMO) and extracted with solvents (also not a healthy option). While the end result is technically safe, it is certainly not very natural. There are mixed reviews for this ingredient, but security data is lacking little. So I wanted to create an air conditioner strip that bypassed it.
I like that DIY air conditioner rods are an easy way to overcome parabens, silicons and sulfates found in conventional shampoos. You can even make a spicy air conditioner strip. They are also with single plastic use as you can cross plastic bottles.
Enough is easy enough to create a grass that is completely oil -based. These work well for damaged hair, dry hair, curly hair and fried hair. For certain types of hair, however, as those with rare hair Or fine hair, they can be very heavy. And if you use a lot, it can let the hair feel weighted, greasy or swollen.
The constituents of the natural air conditioner ribbon
Some of my daughters and I have long hair, so I wanted something that would work well without making it greasy. And while some of us are blessed with natural curls, my hair is definitely straight and finer.
This air conditioner ribbon recipe includes some easier ingredients, such as glycerin and aloe in the mixture. And instead of bee wax, it uses cocoa butter and mango butter to harden the ribbon. I also added beloved hair oils like jojoba oil (or argan) essential lavender and rosemary oils. These promote healthy hair and make it smell beautifully! If you want an unaccompanied version, you can leave essential oils, but they add powerful health benefits.
Since the recipe uses as water -soluble ingredients and oil, I also use emulsifying wax. This helps to combine all ingredients together. Usually when I do Lotion rods (a similar process) I simply pour the hot liquid into my silicone molds when done. For this recipe, you need to stir while cooling to prevent the mixture from separating.
This recipe is pretty simple and essentially involves thawing, stirring and spilling. I leave my hair to feel soft and amazing smell! Try it along with this BAR SHAMPO DIY.

Profit: 4 bars
-
Add cocoa butter, mango butter, jojoba oil and emulsifying wax at the top of the double boiler. Heat over low medium heat or until completely melted, frying occasionally.
-
As the oils are warming up on the stove, combine aloe vera, glycerin and essential oils in a small bowl.
-
Once the oils are completely melted, turn off the heat and slowly pour the water -based ingredients. Fry it constantly as you spill.
-
Let the mixture cool in the refrigerator for about 30-40 minutes. Slice or drop every 10 minutes until it looks creamy, dark and consistency of the thick purpose.
-
Sprinkle the mixture on your molds and soften the top.
-
Leave to cool in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until it hardens. I left mine overnight.
-
Use after shampoo (see more instructions below). These also make a great skin lotion strip!
- From the research I have done this should be sure of color treated hair. However, ask your hair pattern if you are not sure.
- You can also apply a light coat of this to have really dry hair to use as a rest conditioner.
How to use a DIY air conditioner strip
A little go too far! Avoid using many air conditioners or your hair can feel greasy. And since the head naturally produces oils, most people do not need to condition it.
- Rub a layer of air conditioning bar on your hands.
- Rub your hands on the edges of your hair and work up. Avoid the head of the head.
- Use very warm water to rinse, which will help the oils be further dispersed.
