Dr. Berne’s Whole Health Products is voluntarily recalling all lots of MSM DROPS 5% and 15% Solution, Dr. Berne’s Organic Castor Oil Eye Drops and Dr. Berne’s MSM MIST 15% Solution to the consumer level due to a risk for bacterial and fungal contamination.
These products are used as lubricant eye drops and are being recalled out of an abundance of caution. The MSM DROPS 5% and 15% Solution are supplied in 30 mL/1.014 oz plastic bottles; Dr. Berne’s Organic Castor Oil Eye Drops are supplied in 30 mL/1 fl oz white plastic bottles; and Dr. Berne’s MSM MIST 15% Solution is supplied in 30 mL/1.014 oz white bottles. The affected products were distributed through Dr. Berne’s webstore.
The administration of contaminated eye drops carries a risk for minor to serious vision-threatening infection that may possibly lead to a life-threatening infection. Consumers should discontinue use of the affected products immediately. To date, the Company has 2 reports of adverse events related to the recalled product.
Adverse reactions or quality problems should be reported to the Food and Drug Administration’s MedWatch program.
