Ingredients for Hot Dog Sourdough Buns
- 1/2 cup Drying agent – The leavening agent in these sourdough hot dog buns is an active sourdough starter. The beginner should be active and nourished. If your engine is refrigerated, be sure to take it out a few hours before feeding it so it doubles in size before it's ready to use. If you want, you can also use active dry yeast instead of sourdough starter.
- 3 glasses flour – You can use regular all-purpose flour for this recipe.
- 1 cup milky – All milk makes sourdough buns extra soft and delicious. The milk will also handle the sour elements from the sourdough starter. Make sure the milk is at room temperature.
- 2 tablespoons Butter – The butter should be soft to the touch, so that it can be incorporated more easily into the dough. I have a recipe with homemade butter if you want to try it!
- 4 tablespoons Powdered milk – Gives hot dog buns a milder, richer flavor.
