Spring is here, finally, and the world is all a-Shimmer with last night's dew and frost. After a long dark, cold winter, the soil has begun to stir again. There is a noticeable difference, and we can all understand it, in the air, on the ground, in our bodies. Spring is a season of new beginnings, inspiration, a time to create and explore. As nature begins to bloom around us, now it is the perfect time to renovate ourselves in the same way as the called meadows.
In the spring, I like to collect nettle and violet. The level for their wealth of vitamins and minerals, and the increase of energy they offer after sleepy winter months. Violets for their flavonoids, mucous membranes and diuretic properties. They also taste soft and delicious in the form of infusion, making those ideal ridicule supplements.
About this period of the year, my mother would begin to create her extraordinary herbaceous mockery; Drinks that are both refreshing and healthy. I have a lot of loving memories of us by moving away from the heat with its creations. My mother is an absolute magician when it comes to mixing ingredients only in the right proportion, simply guided by intuition. She (and now I, thanks to her influence) never really meant things. It was always “a spraying of this”, “a spraying of this”. As a result, every drink was a little unique, but somehow always balanced perfectly.
With herbaceous mockery, the trick is balancing the bitter with sweet, adding only enough sugar to raise aromas without defeating them. It is also important to find the right ratio of ingredients; Some herbs have stronger fragrance profiles than others, so finding proper balance can sometimes feel alchemical.
