Benefit Cosmetics has been prioritising our arches for decades, and the brand has created some of the most used brow pencils, pomades, powders and gels we have in our makeup kits.
Benefit’s considered every part of our brow routine too. The Benefit Whoa So Soft Brow Oil ($46 from Sephora) builds the foundations necessary for the kind of healthy, thick, soft, shiny brow hairs that look fantastic with or without makeup.
The top-rated, best-seller was formulated to condition and reinforce brow hair post-lamination. It utilises sunflower and argan oils, rich in nourishing and moisturising essential fatty acids, shine-enhancing apricot oil, softening castor oil, and soothing hibiscus flower and safflower extracts to keep your brows looking lush all day long.
Our only gripe with the Benefit Whoa So Soft Brow Oil ($46 from Sephora) is the price tag — $46 for a 10ml vial of product is a hard sell when we’re constantly negotiating the necessity of name brand items on our weekly grocery list.
Lucky for us, there’s an Australian brand offering an eyebrow enhancing oil for a fraction of the price — Body Blendz Lash & Brow Oil ($25.99 from Body Blendz).
The luxurious Body Blendz Lash & Brow Oil has a rose water-based formula that’s enhanced with a myriad of natural extracts and plant oils that help to bolster healthy brows and lashes, plus a nano lashes complex that promotes new growth after just 28 days of frequent application. High concentrations of jojoba oil and a dash of sunflower oil ensure that your brow and lash hairs are soft, shiny, nourished and healthy. Whilst, rosemary extract, coffee seed extract and cypress oil trigger new growth and ensure stronger lash and brow hairs, and panthenol, glycerin and aloe condition and moisturise.
Body Blendz Lash & Brow Oil is available to shop on the Body Blendz website, where it retails for $25.99 for a 10ml vial with a cooling metal roller-ball applicator.
What Is The Best Oil For Eyelashes & Brows?
1/ Castor Oil
Castor oil is lauded for it’s ability to condition hair and promote new growth. However, it’s also important to note that many dermatologists err on the side of caution when it comes to applying castor oil, because it can be comedogenic. That doesn’t mean you can’t use it, just make sure you concentrate on applying it to the mid-lengths and ends of hair strands.
2/ Jojoba and argan oil
Jojoba and argan oil are both rich in essential fatty acids and amino acids, which means they work to reinforce and support the natural processes and pre-existing structures of the hair and skin. They are both excellent conditioning oils for lash and brow hairs.
3/ Rosemary oil
Rosemary oil is non-comedogenic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, whilst also boasting hair strengthening and lengthening properties.
How To Use Lash & Brow Oil?
We’d recommend applying a lash and brow oil in the evening as the last step in your skin care routine. As these products are oil-based they don’t always play well with the makeup products and sunscreen typically worn during the day. Apply a light layer of your lash and brow oil of choice at least three to seven nights a week for best results, making sure to avoid direct contact with the eyes to minimise the risk of irritation and product contamination.
